Direct School Admission – Secondary (DSA-Sec)
The DSA-Sec Exercise was introduced by MOE to provide students who possess
diverse range of achievements and talents to seek admission into secondary
schools before the release of their PSLE results. There is no priority
through affiliation and all students seeking admission will be selected
based on the students’ achievements and talents in comparison to all applicants
in the same category.
Parents and students are encouraged to choose schools wisely based on the student’s aptitudes and strengths, bearing in mind the schools’ academic and non-academic requirements, and the programmes available to develop the area of talent.
Students who are successfully admitted to the school via DSA are expected to honour their commitment to the school and participate in the activities related to the talent they are selected for from year 1-4.
Boys who are interested in pursuing their talents and passion in St Patrick’s
School are encouraged to apply for DSA through the following domains:

Concert Band |
A current member of the school band / guitar ensemble with some playing experience with relevant instrument/s. or Attainment of an ABRSM grade (Theory and/or practical) or equivalent on a musical instrument. or

For Performing Arts: 1. Applicants are required to play a piece of their choice on their instrument. Applicants will also be given a separate piece to sight-read followed by a short listening test.
2. Applicants are to bring their own instruments for the audition. Only percussion instruments and piano will be provided for audition.
3. Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview on a separate date.

as the National Junior Robotics Competition, First LEGO League, or National
Robopreneur Carnival

1. Applicants are expected to complete a multiple-choice question test
that evaluates your proficiency in computational thinking skills.

All applicants will be required to declare any medical status at the start of their trials / auditions for safety reasons.

Students who are unable to attend trials/interviews due to having tested positive for Covid-19 during the trial/interview period may be asked to attend a trial/interview on another day.
Application procedure and information

Application for DSA-Sec can be submitted through the online DSA-Sec Portal. The application is free-of-charge and will be open from 7 May 2024, 11am to 3 Jun 2024, 3pm. For more details, please refer to MOE website – DSA-Sec

Please note that meeting all the criteria does not guarantee the student will be shortlisted/given an offer.

Students who do not have any prior experience may also apply, and that will be assessed on the basis of their potential.

The school's decision on the offer is final. We regret that no appeal will be entertained. The school reserves the right not to disclose the reason for non-selection of an applicant or to release the results of the trials.
